Most Podiatrists currently have areas of subspecialty or experience and Dr. Bremer is no exception.   In addition to general podiatry he has unique experience in the following areas:

Cancer detection and research
He has performed over 350 biopsies and resections on tumors in the foot and ankle over the past 30 years.

He has been involved in cancer research for the past ten years as a Research Associate at Wayne State University Medical School in the Center for Molecular Medicine and Genetics (see research webpage)

Foot infections and wound therapy
Dr. Bremer has extensive experience with treating infections managing hundreds of foot infections, ulcers and wounds over the past 30 years.

Dr. Bremer is one of the most experienced podiatrists in St Clair County, MI treating bone infections of the foot known as osteomyelitis and resistant bacterial infections or “MRSA” infections.  

Dr. Bremer was trained under a nationally known limb salvage expert that treated the first Vancomycin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (VRSA) infection identified in the United States.

Dr. Bremer was part of the medical team that managed one of the first MRSA infections in St. Clair County successfully performing surgical debridement of the infection on the foot.

Dr. Bremer has a unique perspective of performing artificial implant surgeries of the foot over the past 30 years.  During this time technological advances have accelerated with many new products emerging.  Dr Bremer’s experience provides him with important insights on implant selection, rapid recovery from surgery and most important, when not to use implants.  His experience in this area sets him apart in St. Clair County, MI.
